My husband Mike and I took all three of our dogs to the Bull Terrier Club of America’s 2022 National Specialty in Nashville Tennessee. Bull Terrier people refer to this as Silverwood Weekend. The event was held at the Embassy Suites Cool Springs in Franklin, TN. This ;was my fifty first time attending the BTCA’s Silverwood weekend. Hard to believe I’ve been going that many years!
We were busy!
All three of my dogs were entered in different events, although Amy, did not compete due to her being pregnant. I was a speaker on a breeder education panel held on Friday afternoon. The Performance Committee had an informal gathering on Wednesday night, and I helped out with Trick Dog testing on Thursday.
Amy was entered because entries closed before I could confirm her pregnancy. I didn’t want to miss out showing her if she was not pregnant,. We avoided gatherings with a lot of dogs and walked her away from the hotel grounds as much as possible to keep her safe. Several puppies sired by Ch Bullymoon Stands for Liberty with Sandstone, were shown. They were all cobby, typy dogs of moderate size with good bone and strong heads. Makes me even more excited to see what Amy produces in her litter by this dog.
Rally Obedience with Livi

Livi, was entered in both Rally Excellent and Advanced, and qualified in both. This was her first Excellent trial and I wasn’t sure she was ready (she wasn’t really!) but she did just qualified with the minimum passing score of 70. She got a more respectable, but not close to her personal best 83 in advanced. In this case someone tripped and spilled a lot of liver treats in one corner of the Rally ring the night before. Livi did check those smells out on the course! Thanks to Sharon Keillor for taking videos, which you can watch on my YouTube channel. This experience confirmed that Livi is able to compete in Excellent. I plan to enter her at more trials in the future.
Veterans with Iris

Iris compted in the Veterans Sweepstakes where she went Best Opposite Sex to Best of Breed to the lovely Branson, Magor Galactic Agent. She showed well and had many compliments on how good she looks at eight years old. She went second in the Veterans class in the national specialty, again in tough competition.
Fun for Everyone!

The hotel and host club did a great job. The grounds included lots of grassy areas for walking the dogs. Amenities included an excellent free breakfast and nightly reception with 2 free drinks. The club hosted a fun welcome party with music and a Dolly Parton Impersonator. In addition to the shows, there was a costume party open to all dogs, including dogs that were not Bull Terriers that attended Silverwood weekend. The free drinks ensured a lot of socializing in the atrium every evening. My thanks and congratulations to the Bull Terrier Club of the Southeast for a job well done!
