My available white female Bull Terrier Claire, along with her mother Amy, grandmother Livi, and my husband Mike and I went to the BTCA nationals, also known as Silverwood Weekend in Greenville, South Carolina. in October. This was the longest car trip and hotel stay Claire had been on and I was pleased with how she did. She can be a little hesitant about new people, places, and things, but she took everything in stride and showed very well.
The grooming room organizers assigned us a corner spot near some people with calmer adult dogs and I kept her down there during the day even when she wasn’t being shown so I had easy access to take her out for walks and to check on her. This also allowed Claire to get used to the noise and activity of a typical dog show grooming room. She had some very good-looking Bull Terriers in her class and mostly got 2nds in her class, but it was not for lack of trying.
Claire Making New Friends and Having Adventures
Claire and her sister Brook are still available to homes looking for an active Bull Terrier. They recently spent time getting to know the owners of Two Eves Eden and are planning some upcoming daycare and boarding sessions there.
Claire has been working on her Barn Hunt skills since returning to Livonia, and she and her sister Brook will be hunting for rats at the Scamper Detectives trial in Farmington Hills Michigan on December 30th and 31st. They will be running towards the end of the trial, probably early afternoon on Saturday the 30th, and will be in the first classes on Sunday the 31st. The Sunday trial starts at 2 PM so they can ring in the New Year in the highest level classes, but we are not planning on staying that late! Feel free to stop by and cheer me and the girls on at the trial which will be held at the Canine Adventures site at 32250 W Eight Mile Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48336. The entrance is in the rear door closest to Hugo St.
